Chinese Magic!

Once again, China does their censorship disappearing act. Last week, China blocked access to iTunes because olympians were downloading the Songs for Tibet (iTunes link) tribute album in defyance of China’s iron-fist internet censorship. I’ve had a chance to check out the remix of Hide and Seek, and it sounds pretty good. It definitely has an eastern motif to it. Well now China has figured out a way to simply block access to the one album without having to block the entire store. Wonderful.

It seems as though nothing will stop the determined China from protecting its citizens from the truths. If only this sort of vigor could be harnessed and put to use for true good!

Here’s the track Hide and Seek 2

mismatch?

I understand how this happens, I just feel like its lazy programming as it appears like a mismatch to the end user.

I’ve been published!

…sort of!

Projects

I’ve started keeping track of projects I’m working on over in my Computing section. One such project is creating the official website for Union Baptist Church of Rio Vista at ubcriovista.org. So far, I havent put much there, as I’m still deciding if I want to keep that, or just convert it to a WP page. WP pages seem much simpler, but I’d eventually like to post code snippets there I create and stuff that might not necessarily go as well in WP, extensible as WP is…

Its about time!

Not that I have any hope of it coming to fruition, but the IOC has launched an investigation into chinese gold-medal gymnast He Kexin’s age. The main reason I dont think anything will happen, is because people are afraid of China. If their government would indeed go as far as falsifying internationally recognized documents for something as petty as an olympic medal and national sports pride (they certainly did it with the photoshopped firework display), how far would they go to maintain their lie? I’m willing to wager they’d go further than its worth.
